jewel, kitty, jack off jill, otep, dixie chicks, the chick from lacuna coil, amy lee, sarah maclachlan, michelle branch, kitty wells, loretta lynn, patsy cline, the donnas, joan baez, blondie, the carpenters lead singer, fergie, charlotte church, kim walker, misty edwards etc.

In terms of female groups well Girlschool & the Runaways were cool. And singers? There's Diamanda Galas with her 3 and one half octave vocal range. Tarja Turunen, Sharon Den Adel, Simone Simons, Lori Lewis, Anette Olzon, Doro Pesch, Floor Jansen & many others.
