My mom-her birthday is in 2 days if she'd be alive yet. My heart broke when she died 5 months after my brother.

That is so sad. To lose two so quickly. I hope you are now able to cope from the loss. Although we cannot forget, the legacy that she may have left you, should be of comfort. Hugs and thanks for your response.

It is sad, as time goes on we analyse things more, and may find that they initial love that we had (even for mum) may now be cloudy due to the fact that we may consider the she could have done more. Thank you Davey for your response

I don't love neither one of them. Sometimes, love can fade away when love is not the top priority.

We tend to love someone who loves us first. That is how we grow up as infants and we bond. It is the barriers that spring up which alienate us. Tx for your reply. :)

I love both of them for different reasons. My mom because, well, she's my mom and I know she loves me more than anyone else in the entire world. Even when she ****** me off or I disappoint her, I know she still loves me. I love my dad because he understands me. We're a lot alike, we're kindred spirits and old souls.

You are blessed Caito to have two loving parents. Treasure them and keep them. Tell them that you love them as often as possible. Thanks for your response Caito.....:) hugs

My mum was chronically ill all my life and passed away when I was 19.
I had to rely ony dad more as mum was often not there.
I lived my mum dearly but the bond was stronger with my dad.
Is it a question of love or really connection

I understand what you are saying about the connection. It must have been a trying time during the time of her illness. It was good that you had your dad to rely upon more. I am sure he would been thankful that you were there for him too. Thank you for your response Janey. bless you. Phil

My dad, he could really understand me and accept me for who I was, mum was always very cruel and competitive with me for no reason. Dad was the only real family I had growing up.

Thanks for your kind response. It was just the other way around for me. As I have responded to the previous answer, I just cannot understand the way my dad treated me. Never shed a tear when he passed away. Sad that I could not comfort my mum at that time. Strange, how little things come to your mind. :)

When my dad passed in 2002 to cancer I was sad, mad, frustrated all at the same time. It affected me for quite some time and I literally hit rock bottom. Over the last 3-4yrs I have managed to pick myself back up and despite everyday life challenges, I have found a great sense of peace with myself I never thought possible. I know dads spirit is always with me even though the rest of my family is a thing of the past. We may never know why family members do what they do but the more we try to figure it out will just send us on a spiral down. (HUGS)

Takumi. Agree in general. Our parents initial love for us (if there was) has at some point gradually declined. There are various things that cause this. I for certain cannot truly pin point why my dad was so strict and abusive. Thanks for your response
