My Pop-pop. I miss his voice, his toupee, his aura of Polident and bile, his skinny legs, his sharp wit, his indian burns and his linty Tic Tacs. I miss his crazy driving, the way he could annoy my parents so well. I miss the sound of his footsteps and the sound of the door that connected our house with his apartment opening. The way he'd wake me up in the middle of the night sometimes just to make sure I was okay. The way he intensely loved my Nan even though she was ravaged by Alzheimer's disease.

I'm sad that my kids will never know him. Pop pop Candy.

Mmm. It is 6:00 here so if I would miss someone at this moment, that would be sad, wouldn't it?

I miss my family ..

I miss the friends of mine that have come and gone, passed away, moved away, became a different person and grew apart from. I miss my true love. But most of all, I miss who I use to be.
