Another European most definitely, I think change comes very slowly to such a stodgy institution. In fact, when they elected a Polish man (Pope John Paul II) even that was considered revolutionary...

Another European, but it's just a figurehead. The "Black Pope" is actually the one that runs everything from behind the scenes. (Although, he isn't black, he's called that due to the shadowy nature of his position, lol!)

Black would make sense because Jesus was black but there is no reason to choose the pope by skin color.

The white image of Jesus came from a French model because Jesus was never painted. If Jesus was white then he would stand out from the crowd so much that they would write about it in the Bible.
