Ancientaliensdebunked.com. Nuff said.
That is true. Some of my friends say the silly idea was thoroughly refuted long ago.
Yea... but debunking a television show isn't exactly debunking the theory.
The ideas in the book were thoroughly disproved forty years ago. Erich van Damniken was caught using childishly crude hoaxes, so his supporters deserted him. Raddock needs to do much research about this matter.
A lady I know has the first two seasons on DVD, and she showed them at "hen parties" to a group of international ladies who discussed them. Two girls said the idea was invented or popularized in the 1968 book "Chariots of the Gods" by Erich von Daniken. They say he was a thief and a fraud who was in prison several times and that this book and its sequels were soundly-refuted about forty years ago. One girl has Clifford Wilson's 1972 book "Crash Go The Chariots" that disproves the ideas in great detail. One girl said some scientists calculate that no spaceships can ever travel fast enough to travel between stars in less than centuries. Skeptic James Randi investigated some claims in "Gold of the Gods" and concluded that, "Erich von Daniken is a liar and an incompetent fake." That su8ms it up about the whole idea of "Ancient Aliens"!
I believe it to be highly possible, even probable... but I'm not 100% convinced it's factual. <br />
It is endlessly interesting how so many lost cultures who never communicated with each other have eerily similar practices, stories, and belief systems.
The TV series is based upon Erich von Daniken's book "Chariots of the Gods" that is just a crude hoax that was soundly refuted by scientists, skeptics and critics soon after its debut in the USA in 1969. A thorough knowledge of astronomy and physics proves that it is quite improbable that any spaceships can ever overcome the vast interstellar distances. Some scientists calculate that no spaceship can ever travel as fast as 10% of light's velocity. The nearest certain planet is at Epsilon Eridani, and it would take about 200 years for the best possible spaceship to travel to earth from there. It is impossible and improbable that this series and its basis are true.
Similar ideas is just human nature. Dr. Carl G. Jung wrote about the "Collective Unconscious". Use Occam's razor, and it cuts down "Ancient Aliens". That ida dos not explain anything better than alternative ideas.
Quite impossible for spaceships to achieve only 10% the speed of light? based on what calculations? Human technology and grasp of physics? We can't even explain exactly how the pyramids were constructed. No that doesn't mean aliens built them, however it serves to clearly illustrate my point.
The Theory of Relativity and other considerations show this. Look at the equations in it and try calculating the requirements for traveling at 10% of the speed of light. Physics limits the speed of matter, and no technology can ever overcome these limits. The construction of the pyramids has been explained. You just have not done enough research. What is your point? That you do not know about Relativity and engineering? I can easily seee that. Only people who are very naive believe such crudee hoaxes as "Ancient Aliens".
Actually, no the construction of the pyramids (among other sites) is still up in the air. You sir have not done enough research. Sorry.
And again, you are clinging to the notion that one must propel a star ship at the speed of light. Einstein who penned the THEORY you are clinging to, also was a firm believer in time/space dilatation.
Many points the Ancient Aliens show tries to make are misconstrued or false, this however does not prove that ancient man was not in contact with other worldly beings. This proves an alternative theory is still citing material from the 1970's written by Erich Von Daniken.
