Who else is a nietzsche fan? Don't you hate when the pronunciation of his name is slaughtered?

He's too much of a downer for me. He had a complete mental breakdown, and I can't help but think that if I follow his philosophy, I will meet the same fate.

But then, I can't find any one philosopher that I agree with all of the time. That's why I make my own philosophy. ;-)

the issue with western philosophy is it's preoccupation with the self and the ego. It's reliance on argument. And it's utter ignorance of alternative views. Basically a Eurocentric viewpoint that is as tribal and archaic as the cultures we/they proffer to be superior to.

No I don't align to him or many others - I do enjoy reading them and using them to gain perspective and a sense of history for my artwork and my thought processes. There are of course valuable things in each person's opinions and there is a lot to be said for intelligent people offering ideas. I think there is a lot to be said for the points of view of other peoples too.

I am not his fan. I agree with a lot of his observations but disagree with a lot of his conclusions. The poem I wrote about him and his philosophy won a gold trophy.

Nietzsche is peachy if your tastes run to psychotic, neurotic, Teutonic, misanthropic maniacs.

I've never heard his name pronounced; nor have I read his works, although I have of course heard of him. I must admit that I believe names (and all words) have "sound value", so that its important to pronounce them correctly if possible.

If I were an atheist I would definitely agree with nihilism.
Otherwise I have a more Kierkegaardian view.
As far as pronunciation goes in America

"It's not Nee-Chee like peachy, it's Nee-cha like pizza,"

As I've been told, I don't really give a ****. His writing is just as good either way.
