She kept saying no...18 yrs three proposals. She asked me why I had not asked her in the last yearor so...she asked why haven't you asked me to marry you? Then ..is it because you think I will say no? I SAID; no I am afraid you will say yes. We haven't spoken in a long time....God I love her still love her..

I was married once (lasted 8 years), have been single now for about 25 years, it's hard, but marriage is harder.

Me. Interference from others, primarily my parents, sabotaged my best relationships. Circumstances were also contributory in the following sense. Once you graduate from college and immerse yourself into the working world, it is harder to meet people who are your own age. And for my generation, the Internet and dating websites did not always exist. For my generation, opportunities to make friends were limited to next-door neighbors and coworkers.

Me, I did not want to be abused and that is what I saw in marriages. And I wanted not part of that kind of thing.
