Who here is open minded and willing to listen diplomatically to differing opinions?
Even if someone has a different opinion from my own, I still listen and try to offer some sort of compromise. If a compromise cannot be reached then I respectfully agree to disagree with their opinion. I never resort to lashing out at someone simply because their opinion is different from my own. To me, being close-minded and lashing out at others for being or thinking different is the ultimately sign of immaturity and stupidity. Who knows? Maybe that different opinion can help provide insight on how to solve some of your own problems~

I will listen, I will engage in conversation... but I think arguing is pointless and people who resort to name calling and insults are not worth my time. Agree to disagree and get on with life.

Yeah, it's why I argue about politics all the time - the point is to listen to what the other person says and accept there's a chacne you may be wrong. None of us are very good at that, and badly suffer from confirmation bias - where two people look at the same evidence, and use it to bolster their own opinion.
It's like how conservatives think the media is liberal and liberals think the media is conservative. How to you -debate- that?Like (2)

I like to think I am open minded. I have always enjoyed listening to another's opinion on same subjects. I rarely change my mind but I do like to hear how they are looking at the same thing I am and seeing it totally differently.I got into a lot of trouble in grade school asking the nuns why, how come and all that. Grinning now at those memories.

I consider myself to be very open. Though I may not agree, I always seek to at the very least understand their motivations/beliefs/convictions/ etc. I wish more people would realize that wanting to understand a different outlook is NOT "giving in" or a "weakness" or accepting it as your own. And yes, ob
jective opinions can very easily reveal blind spots in your own logic. We think very much alike milady. Like (2)

That is the most natural and sensible thing to do!

I am willing to listen as long as we can agree to disagree. My opinions will likely not change.

if i am convinced with my opinion.. i won't go looking for someone to listen to me! if you need that then you probably need to think out loud to convince yourself first! it is not wrong.. i do it often.. but people take my thoughts as my opinions.. when i'm still processing the issue!
