Who is God?

These are questions you can only ask yourself, because only you know the answers in your heart. That's where you need to look.

I have learned fifty years about God with devotion and reverence, but I fail to answer your questions. God is unknowable to all mankind, so each human being has to try very hard to look for the traces of His existence, like a physicist should make great efforts to attain some knowledge about the sun. The sun is there before our eyes, but no one really knows about it or being able to let other unlearned people conceive about its nature and its purpose.
God creates all of us and He tells us to learn from the divine Books to know Him and to love Him. If you raise such questions and thinking that other people will be responsible for your separation from God, you have made a serious mistake.
You are responsible about your own destiny for knowing or not knowing the origin and the purpose of your life. Yes, when you come before God, you cannot tell Him that "I knew You not because none of Your disciples could tell me clearly about You!"

There is one God. He was here before us.

God makes the weather, listens and responds to prayers, supervises angels, oversees the heavens and earth, and fights the devil.

god does not exist. or better yet, exists only in the conceptual human mind.

The more important question is who are you? You are a child of God and you were created in God's image. God is your Father. He has a body of flesh and bones as tangible as mans only it is perfected and glorified. He knows you better than you know yourself and he loves you more than you can comprehend. He created you and you lived with him before you were born. God created a plan that would allow you to come to earth, recieve a body, and have experiences to become like him and enjoy the same type of life that he enjoys. You chose this plan and you were sent to the earth to learn obedience to God's commandments and become like him. We all make mistakes but through Jesus Christ we can repent and become better and one day return to our Heavenly Father.

is there one God?
Yes. God created everything visible and invisible! He even created all the bad things- because you see at one time all the bad things were good, but man corrupted them and misused them! However God will one day make everything good again. I know some people say there is no God, but look at anything made around you- someone was behind it- wether it it was the food you eat, the picture on the wall, the book you read. Would there be life at all if you took everything that was made away? No. You would not have a life. So if various people are responsible for every single thing in your day to day life, do you really think that the other things were made by accident? The sea! The planets! The earth and ground itself that produces food that keeps us alive! It is only common sense that there is a God behind all of this!

Is He there because of us?
Yes. Absolutely! God created all there was and declared it good. Then he said, hm, I am going to make man to take care of this entire earth. I am going to entrust man with everything I just made! Imagine the responsibility and love God poured into us when he made us! An all powerful being entrusted US with the things HE made? Amazing! Yes, it is about us! He loves you and he has an amazing plan for your life! Don't miss out on it by living a selfish life run by your lowest nature. God has the best for you in mind.


Or are we here because of Him?
Yes, we are here because of him. Man screwed it up. I don't need to tell you this. But God in his mercy and love, gave us a way to change everything and live in a right way and to live forever. Right now sin separates you from God- that is why you are asking all these questions. The word sin may seem meaningless to you- but if you look around you and in your own heart you will know what it means and know that it obviously exists. All the sin around you seems so real: the wars, the abuse, the poverty, the wrong man is doing. But this is really what separates you from what is real! It hides what is real! But this sin doesn't have to separate you from God!

If its the latter what else does God do? I mean, what did he do before he created man?

Before God created man what did God do? That is a good question. God always governed. The earth is not all there is to existence. There is heaven and God lives and rules there. This existed before God created man. When the time was right God created the earth and man. The earth is only a part of God's plan. His ultimate plan is for man to be in heaven with him.

A being.
An idea.

I think the idea of God exists because of us. I mean, if he/she really did create the world in seven days, kudos to him/her for the hard work. However, I think he/she's an idea that, for some people, is best represented by a singular being. Since he/she is an idea (to me), humans had to make him into existance.
I believe in pantheism and string theory. "God" really exists in the world around us, and we are all connected.

It is as difficult to prove that god exists as it is to prove he doesn't exist at all.

The definition varies from one mythology to another. Basicaly "god" can be as varied as the human imagination makes it.

The entity that is there, but we cannot see, hear, or feel.
The entity that defies all laws by being there without being there

A concept. A thought. A feeling. To some everything to others nothing.
