Janis - but had she stayed with Big Brother and the Holding Company I would have respected her even more. They made the way for her and were a good sound for her

Janis was a force! in and of her self. She laid all of her out, she was not cute, not sexy, yet she was raw sexy stomp cute.

Joan Jett...without a doubt. I agree with Toxic13, Janis is more Blues and Rockabilly. Janis was amazing but was more boheimian that rock. When I think of rock, I think, leather and edge and a don't **** with me attitude. Joan was a badass who was just the quinessential rocker chick. Janis was a free spirited, lets have a party and jam kind of girl. I would say Janis was the Mother of Rock and Roll but Joan is most definately the Queen.

Best Answer

That is a great answer, and I love Joan Jett. But is her voice on par with Ann Wilson? Then again, perhaps her attitude makes up for it.

Best Answer

It's rock and roll...all you gotta do is growl, bang a guitar and look insanely cool. Ann is a beautiful woman and a lot more sophisticated than Joan. Joan is edge. Ann is class.

Best Answer

It is such a hard decision :-)
