i have to plum for Joan jett, Janis is the queen of Blues
she died young, but Janis Joplin
Suzi Quattro, who inspired Joan Jett
Yeah! The original wild one!
Chrissie Heinz (Pretenders) rocks all.
Me too. And a crush :)
Janis - but had she stayed with Big Brother and the Holding Company I would have respected her even more. They made the way for her and were a good sound for her
Janis was a force! in and of her self. She laid all of her out, she was not cute, not sexy, yet she was raw sexy stomp cute.
Yeah I'm old enough - I was there - BIG BROTHER put her on the map
Why even ask Janis Joplin is to rock what Aretha Franklin is to R&B. They will remain undisputed for a long time
Ronnie Spector from the Ronnetes comes in my mind first
Yes, and she was really a strong woman, you can hear that too.
Joan Jett...without a doubt. I agree with Toxic13, Janis is more Blues and Rockabilly. Janis was amazing but was more boheimian that rock. When I think of rock, I think, leather and edge and a don't **** with me attitude. Joan was a badass who was just the quinessential rocker chick. Janis was a free spirited, lets have a party and jam kind of girl. I would say Janis was the Mother of Rock and Roll but Joan is most definately the Queen.
It's rock and roll...all you gotta do is growl, bang a guitar and look insanely cool. Ann is a beautiful woman and a lot more sophisticated than Joan. Joan is edge. Ann is class.
