Without question Pink Floyd. They have a very unique chemistry and sound that is different for each album. Roger Water's concepts and lyrics are extremely creative and their studio experimentation was ahead of it's time. Their concepts are easy to identify with and their musical sound always reflects the emotion and tone of the lyrics perfectly.

Floyd has to be the winner for me. They are the most mellow hard rock (if that makes sense) of all time and the one who used the most unusual sounds in their music.
