Who listens to the radio anymore?

Do you think they play more commercials than music these days?

I listen to the radio every day. I listen to a non-commerical radiot station for the ABC in Australia called Triple J. It's amazing. In fact, i'm going to a Triple J party this Sunday because they're counting down the Hottest 100 songs of all time. I'm hoping Led Zeppelin will get number one. They don't play commerical music on their station either. So only the 'real' music is played ;)

I do! Unfortunetely my dopey ipod won't allow me to download radio stations so I don't tune in as much as I'd like to but I do every chance I get... Late night/early morning radio is the best- they play better music and the topics are far more controversial than those you hear during the day... At least that's how it is in Ireland anyways! Plus, it's an area of journalism I'd like to get involved in so it enables me to gain experience! :)

I don't. I don't want to listen to 15 minutes of music and then 15 minutes of commercials. Not to mention they play the same songs over... and over... and over...

Uh.. should I admit this? I don't own an ipod. Still have a stereo system and a couple of other clock radios and listen in the car. It's okay, if a commercial or song bothers me, I just change it. But, yeah, I love music, so I just find whatever I'm in the mood for. The Cable has music channels, too.

I like to listen to the radio while I'm doing my chores as it's it's so much less distracting than having the TV on. As I live in the UK, I can avoid the commercial radio stations by tuning into the BBC radio stations

I switch from one station to the next as soon as the commercials start. If they all have commercials, I turn it off. The yakkity yak is distracting... I don't enjoy listening to the yakkers. 90% of what announcers drone on about is filler... just like passing gas.

I always switch on the radio when I wake up, there's a local radio station broadcasting 'oldies' mixed with the news. I also listen to the radio when I want to relax at night, or when I'm doing the housework. Here, there are many radio stations, some are focused on music, other on news, but generally speaking here are not so many commercials as on the TV

I listen en route to & from work. They're local stations, in the afternoons I'll sometimes listen to Savage Nation...don't always agree with him, but it's entertaining.

Whats wrong with that? I mean ipods and walkman radios are kinda useless now that almost every cellphone has media player and fm radio features in it.
But i'm listening to that on my cellphone from which i'm sending this.
But i mostly watch mtv.

No, but that's because where we live we have super lame radio stations! It's talk radio with dumbass dj's in the morning, then they play the same damn songs all day long, then it's the idiotic dj's in the evening trying to be funny.
