Resolved Question

Who or what today is a trustworthy and reliable source of political news?

Do not need to hear what you think is not, but who is and maybe why you think that. I am serious everyone says that such and such a things should not be listened to so who can we listen to without basis and politicizing going on.

I deleted my joke. I think all political new today, at least in America, isn't news. It is all opinion and commentary.

There isn't a single source.

I have to say Fox News. They are not without an unfortunate leftward bias, but at least they are less liberal than the rest.

The governmentalists hate them for being less extreme than they like.

there is no such thing as fair and unyassed reporting any more. watching a variety of news shows is the best thing you can do to get the whole story these days.

http://www.factcheck.org/ and New York Times are a good place to start. Factcheck is heavily researched and it doesn't pick sides (it's harsh on both parties' games). NYT is the most nuetral of any newspaper I've seen. They make their errors, but they give more of the story for both sides, and they don't tell you what to conclude at the end.

But there's no source that's infallible: they all have their errors, biases, omittances and flaws. Some have more than others. And some actively distort, propaganda, and misrepresent things, which is even worse than just being wrong.

But those are two I've seen reason to think they put in more leg work to be fair to the facts and to double check things. Which is about as much as you can ask of any source. they aren't supposed to entertain you, tell you what to think, or agree with you. They're only supposed to be trustworthy in gathering most of the important facts for you to come to your own conclusion. That's what a news service is for.
