    Karl Marx is credited with the quote, but it was an often used slogan of the socialist movement. Supposedly the idea is traceable back to the New Testament: "All the believers were one in heart and mind. No one claimed that any of their possessions was their own, but they shared everything they had." Acts 4:32

    Someone who did not understand human nature, probably Karl Marx, but it could just have easily been any of those 19th century numbnuts friends of his.
