I think my dad would like the credit, but I taught myself ... he just got me a bike with stabilisers, I had enough of them, kicked up a fuss about not wanting these little wheels because other kids didn't have them (I was about 5), then just worked it out myself - pushed myself along with my feet, then took my feet of the ground and felt I had to do something to keep going and not crash, and just started pedaling ..:)

My parents kinda taught me how to ride a bike when I was a child, but I could never let go of my training wheels!

After my Dad passed away, I'd made a list of things that I wanted to do. One of them was to learn how to ride a bicycle, and so I taught myself. :)

I'll never forget though, my ex taught me how to feel confident making turns. Even though breaking up with him was the best thing that ever happened to me (lol), I'm forever grateful for what he taught me.

My older brother :) I honestly couldn't ride without training wheels until I was like 8 or older. I felt like a complete loser. My brother was like "just start riding.. Don't be afraid to fall" and I went. My dad watched so I guess you can say he helped too. And on the plus side.... I didn't fall!!

Yeah; My Dad. He bought me a Wards Full size ( at the time 26" ) bike and I was too short to reach the pedals and the bar dug into my butt. I kept with it for a year when I was big enough to straddle the top bar and began to wobble it down the alley with many elbow and leg abrasions! It was great when another year later I could sit on the seat!! I wish that they had 20" sting ray Schwinns back in the 40s. I gave my boys 20 inchers to start with and my daughter learned in a day with a girl's bike. They now have 26" and 27"mountain bikes and one has gone on to motorbikes----hobojo

My sister. My mum would try but the park she was trying to teach me at has some steep drops, and she'd have me aimed right at them and it would freak me out. After a while I said I didn't want to learn anymore and that's when my sister came in......and I got it the very first day!.

My Dad. He bought a used boy's bike for me and he put me on it and gave me a shove and told me to keep peddling and I did and it was easy for me. I ran over one of my mother's really nice chickens in the process, but it took one afternoon. I still LOVE to ride bikes. I think I was 5 or 6 years old.
