Turn off the computer and get in bed. It'll be there tomorrow. Your Mom is right..

If you are falling asleep at yoru computer then you are spending way to omuch time on the laptop. St a limit - say 2 half hour periods a day for computer use and use the rest of the time you now spend in front of the computer outside with real people. And when it is bedtime; got to bed not to computer table. Beds are way more comfy for sleeping.

This is a problem that will plague you for years to come, I imagine when you are in your 40s, this will still be "such an issue" you may never have this resolved and that is something that you are just going to have to live with for the rest of your life.

Nah, I don't think she's overreacting. I would if I were in your place :) but you know what, soon enough you're going to miss having someone fussing over you, so enjoy it now!

Well, how old are you?

My parents first got a computer when I was 16 - for me, because I insisted. A few months later (I had just turned 17) I had this depressed period during the summer vacation and for a couple months I would stay up all night, online, and sleep most of the day. One of my first such nights, my mom came into my room and said pretty much what you said here... I don't know, maybe it was because I was still underage and she thought I needed to be told what to do? My parents do that kind of overprotective stuff because they sometimes don't seem to think I can deal with things on my own for some reason, but they've stopped the computer-related nagging. Just prove them that you know what you need and you can still take care of your sleep, hunger, hygiene, chores you might have, school etc, if that's the problem with your parents.

Also, it could possibly be a matter of money too. Not everyone can pay big electricity bills (assuming your computer/laptop was plugged.)

Since you were also asleep at the computer table, she might be worried you're addicted or something. Normally when you feel that sleepy you'd just go to bed...

You need your rest...I know you think she is overreacting but thats what moms do she is worried about you and she loves you. So get to bed

She is right. You shouldn't be doing that. Its a bad habit to start. Even when your older and your mom isn't there.

Well, I used to think mine overreacted when I was glued to my Desktop gaming all the time, but when I got away from it and lost the addiction I noticed she wasn't overreacting and was actually right. I did need to get away from it. So what I'm trying to say is, it'll still be there tomorrow, much as you might think the Grinch is going to come and steal it, he won't. Just slip into bed and get some rest. =)
