It doesn't make sense because who in their right mind would want to bring a baby into the world only to be destroyed at the end of the yr if it were to really happen that is.

There are always more and more babies being born because as a society we allow stupid people to contine to breed as they wish, like rodents. Overpopulation and resource scarcity is a real threat to the earth, not some pseudomystical mayan nostradumbass mumbojumbo

No, because I think there are more people being deterred by the current state of the economy than will be spurred on by the thought of throwing caution to the wind expecting the world to end.
