I have, it actually woke me up one night.
I had a pin sitting on my dressing table and while I was asleep my cat picked it up with his mouth and dropped it on the ground. It woke me up and I knew straight away what he was doing, when I turned the light on he was picking the pin up with his little mouth and dropping it the floor over and over again. I got up and put it somewhere safe where he couldn't get to it but it's weird how a pin dropping woke me up.

I did and it really wasn't that quiet in there either so IDK about that whole "So quiet you could hear a pin drop" They're loud
