Levin60kitty - Israel's birthday is May 14th - should have been the 15th ,but that was a Saturday. Israel actually left the Palestinians with 22% of their own place, which is very different. And whenever rockets go in one direction, salvoes of 155mm and /or Hellfire missiles go in the other direction. The Israelis killed more CHILDREN in the last seven DAYS than Qassam rockets have killed in the past seven YEARS. A life is a life. In my book,a Magen David on your passport doesn't make you worth a hundred of the people next door, and doesn't give you a free pass for war crimes, either.

Wow, go Israel! (eyeroll)
Israel is as much at fault as the Palestinians are when it comes to the deaths in Gaza. Comments like levin60kitty's show a blindness that is remarkable. Both sides have shown remarkable ignorance of the deaths their actions have caused.

Palestinians are pissed because their relatives get blown to bits by Israeli (American) rockets, so they blow up Israelis, who get pissed that their relatives were blown up so they blow up some Palestinians... ad nauseum.

"This is our land"

"We were here first"

"We are God's chosen people, we're persecuted"... blah blah blah

Put a sock in it and blow up another Palestinian, since we know that is what your wrathful vengeance really wants and what we know will happen when this temporary cease fire ends. Do your part, and give them the same reason to retaliate, so you will have another reason to retaliate again...

This is madness.

Isn't this always the case... 3 hours for peace... 21 hours for war. It reminds me of the federal budget!!!

Best Answer

I've been out of the loop today, but I guess 3 hours is better than none. I don't think I'll be cheering until there's a "permanent" ceasefire.

notdarcy, you almost have to keep that dark sense of humor in this situation. It is beyond all reason. I would welcome a joke. I wish I could think of oneI have to take out my Kurt Vonnegut attitude on this. And so it goes......
"A ceasefire went into effect between Israel and Hezbollah. Total disaster. We are no longer on the road to World War III. Jesus was half way here. Now he has turn his cloud of glory and go back to heaven -- and it does not get good mileage. Here's the worst part. Guess who brokered this peace in the Middle East? The U.S. and the French working through the UN. The only non-offensive word in that sentence is 'through.'" --Stephen Colbert

I have always had a spot in my heart for Israel. Its vbirthday, May 11th and mine are the same. So many always knock Isreal for protecting themselvs. The country gave the Palestinians their own place and what happened. The stupid palestinians started shooting rockets into Isreal. Oh well, some people will never stop fighting and will never learn.
