Yes i notice it all the time does anyone have a real answer we still buy the goods from them. If we stopped buying from them what about the jobs that would be lost what would you say to still getting the same size and paying a higher price than you do now at the checkout. In the end it would be the very same but you would think that you are paying more. But is you add up the cost per ounce or kilo or litre you will find it is much the same. Also do not be commed by thinking that by buying larger packets you are saving money sometimes it costs more. The real way is to find the cost per unit not package. then you will know. Say Coca Cola costs $1 per 500ml bottle but $1.80 per 2liter bottle then if you use the unit price you will find out that you are only paying 45c Per 500 ml.if you use this system when shopping you will find that you will get better value.

I've noticed it is with soda too, if you look at the fill line for two liters it's not where it used to be it's a lot lower. Beef jerky used to be stuffed in the bag now it's like ten pieces.

Additionally, recently I have noticed how Dollar General sells Regular rolls of toilet paper and Bigger rolls, 24 regular versus 12 "Bigger" are about the same price.
These are NOT the double rolls, AT ALL, they have only 50 percent more than the regular roll. Most of the stores sell double rolls for LESS money than the regular ones. So they are selling you 24 regular or the equivalent of 18 regular on Bigger rolls, for the same money... what a scam.
Canned food sizes have been being reduced for a long time. coffee USED to come in pound cans, not 11 and a half ounce. everything went down in size recently AND they introduced family sizes, about half again bigger than the previous sizes, for approx double the price.
we are being taken, at every turn.
A huge number of people, though, don' t even look, just grab what they recognize visually, and move right on.
The grocers hope for that, just ask them.

I use to spend less than $10.00 at the farm stand and I always left with 4 bags of fruit and vegies.
Now I spend $16.00 with 3 bags.

Groceries can easily cost $60.00 (3x what I once paid).
Also my electric bill last month was $170.00. I use to pay $65.00 in the summer ten years ago.
