Resolved Question

Why am I still tired no matter how much I sleep?

Day after day I feel lethargic, cloudy.. just plain exhausted. I try to get 8 hours of sleep each night, I go to bed around 9 PM and wake up at 5 AM for work. When I try to get to sleep naturally, I toss and turn all night long. So the only way I carry on is to take sleeping pills 30 minutes before bed, and have some form of caffiene in the morning. I occasionally nap when my daughter does, but I ALWAYS wake up groggy, with heartburn and a headache that goes on all day. Yes, I am overweight, but even when I was thinner I still had this problem. I'm tired of dragging through life and doing the very least that I can just to stay alive. I feel like the walking dead! I have mild depression, but if anything, the way I feel physically is whats causing my depression.. I have no insurance so I cannot afford to see a doctor. Is anyone else going through this or have a clue what might be wrong?

Iron deficiency might be a possibility. Especially for a woman I think.

only a doctor will know with blood test, I know it hard with no insurance but do it for you daughter. Thryoid does cause many symptoms like deppression, over weight, sleep problems, low tyroid is miss diagnosed as depression. As I said do it for your daughter so you can feel better. take vtiamins too

Many of the suggestions above could be correct. Only way to KNOW is to NOT self-diagnose or EP-diagnose...but to see a good physician. Chronic fatigue could seem relatively unimportant (an irritant, perhaps) but it might signal more serious underlying health issues.

May I suggest you go and get a check up. That would be my first stop.. make an appoint ment to see your doctor and go from there. Its not good you taking sleeping pills and then caffeine to wake you up..

There is a lot going on for you in your body with your young daughter.. so please get yourself to a doctor.

Look at your diet.. what kind of food are you eating.. try some walking with your daughter.. go to the park if there is one close-by or walk around the block. Drink lots of water..eat fresh vegetables.. the list is endless.. but its important that you get some medical advice first..

Go to the doctor and get blood tests for anaemia, thyroid problems, diabetes, chemical imbalances everything that could cause this tiredness. These will help to rule out different disorders. If the tests prove nothing, then it could definitely be stress-caused depression or chronic fatigue syndrome.
Good luck! It's not fun feeling like that. I know.

honestly.. I'm sorry but as you can see it can be a number of things...

you should ask yourself questions to figure it out like..

am I stressed out? What's causing my stress?

do I truly sleep right? do I need a new pillow or bed? am I comfortable?

do I eat right? what nutrients do I need to feel good?
what am I missing?
do I drink enough water?
do I get enough exercise?

just stuff like that until you figure out what could be bothering you.. it sounds like stress to me.
but I am not you =l
so I cannot say

Hypothyroidism can cause tiredness, no energy & depression. It can also cause weight gain too.

Exercise, vitamins, cut back on the caffeine. Stress will make you feel lousy. Try some yoga or listening to calming music. I really think sleeping pills make you feel worse in the long run--they can give you headaches and they cause grogginess.

start taking vitamins... you may need iron...
go get a multi vitamin and start taking it..
it takes a few days to start kicking in tho.
cut back on caffeine, it can give you a high but then gives you a drop. eat more protein too

Okay.. I know that a doctor visit can bankrupt you without insurance.. especially if they want to do tests and god forbid they put you on something..
Here's the thing.. do you take any time to just feel joy in each day? Are you giving and giving and giving only to find that nothing seems to be giving back to you? You need to receive even if your the one giving to you.. you need to take a few moments every single day for something that is just joy.. I know children are joy but I mean a joy that isn't work too... sunset.. nature.. something of beauty for you.. especially if it's something that inspires a sense of awe in you.. some time ALONE where no one and nothing is putting any demands on you.. you need to seize a little time like this and do not waste it worrying that you need to do this or that.. do not feel guilty about taking it.. watch something that makes you laugh everyday.. aviod things that cause you stress that you can not control... let those things go.. you have no other choice anyway as they are not within your control... the sleeping pills aren't helping you either.. you need to wean yourself off of those and it won't be something that happens instantly either.. you may have a few bad nights but it will come back around... also try to sleep and wake to your own natural clock as often as possible. Put something by your bed that makes you smile or feel warm and fuzzy to see the first thing your eyes open..always try to start the day with a genuine smile. I know it sounds simple and silly.. but it is effetive and improves the overall quality of your life..
