Why are humans the only animals that are bad for the ecosystem?

Humans, as a species, more closely resemble viruses than animals in regard to the role we play in the health and balance of our planet; why are we the only animal that is actually a danger to our planet?

because human as a form of higher animal with highest intellectual capacity think of how can she/he inhabit the earth entirely and turn out to be greedy. humans have ability to create things by using natural resources even knowing the effect of it (inventions, construction going on). humans think and still discovering what lies beneath. humans still finding a way to rule the earth. and in return, when the nature suffered, human suffer too!

So what do you intend to do about it Cuerva?

Would you like governments to...
...forcibly sterilse people?
...force abortions?
...put substances in the water supply to sterilse people?

Obama's science czar John Holdren advocated those options in his book "Ecoscience".

We pose a threat to other living creatures. Most other species do the same thing, only on a small scale. It is just because there are so many people around, and the rest of the world isn't equipped to handle all of us. Lets say there was a huge growth in the wolf population of any given area, that ecosystem isn't going to be equipped for it, and the extra wolves will throw off the balance that was formerly achieved. All those extra wolves will be "bad" for that ecosystem too. The only real difference is the scale that it is on. There are way too many people, almost everywhere in the world. If there were less of us, we wouldn't pose any threat to any ecosystem as a whole.

We're not. Thats why we have animals that are called "pests" cause they **** up the natural order of things. Like introducing foreign species to places.

That is a crock of elitist bullshit. We are not a virus on this planet, I was put here by my creator, my rights are inalienable and not to be taken away by some government body. I have just as much right to exist as anything or anyone else. Take that, human-hating tree huggers.

Humans are so bad for the planet because there are so many of us because we live so long on the planet and everyday our knowledge is used to try and make us live longer. In trying to survive we are ruining the planet. If we only lived for as long as we were useful then allowed to die there would not be half the problem and there would be a continuous rotation of people being born raised and dieing.

there's too many of us. but don't worry. whether the earth itself does it or we do it, it will be taken care of soon enough.

You forgot about the methane from all animals especially cows. Who by the way replaced buffalo, so they cant be used as a club to beat us over the head with.
Get over it worry about something real The planet is doing just fine and will be here when were all dust.

Cause we live in many ecosystems so our impact is total.

Cows are horrible for the ecosystem, and maybe the worst culprit for global warming. Of course we only have so many cows because of gluttonous human appetites for dead animal flesh.

Because we're the only ones who have language, both written and spoken, and opposable thumbs. We have the intellect and physical capabilities to destroy anything we put our minds to.

because we are the only animals that have the abillity to change the ecosystem to suit ourselves. And we do, and we never stop doing it. if it's too hot, we invent air conditioners. If the land we live on is too big to travel, we invent cars, trains, airplanes. If Manhattan Island is too small, we invent skyscrapers. if we get hungry, and game is scarce, we invent farming.

Every other animal on this planet lives as best it can in the niche it's best suited for. Only humans force their way into other animal's niches-- without regard for the creature that once lived in it.

Because the other animals can't do their own research to find reasons to blame others and create new taxes and projects to divert money from oil and gas companies to new, *green* companies?

Because they are selfish and all about control. They don't care what happens to anything else if it is standing in the way of developement. We humans are like a bacteria invading and destroying the earth and the creatures on it.

Were not look at marsupials they live all over the isolated continent of australia but you don't see them much any where else, they couldn't compete with other mammals thats just one example
