Why are men not emotionally supportive?
For example, I was going to a divorce hearing and was feeling anxious...my boyfriend told me to be polite. I am a business professional and wasn't concerned about going to court or interacting with people, I was more concerned about the outcome!!

Not trying to stereotype.....guess I'm trying to understand why a man would NOT be emotionally supportive.

I think it's hysterical when women ask this question! Men are emotionally supportive when they give a **** about you! The problem is that women need to learn to not repeat the same talking points over and over. We only need to hear an issue one time to grasp it. When we appear to have that glazed over look it's because the ranting has gone into a never ending circle.

its not a good idea to be concerned with the outcome..just wait it out..see how it goes...if youre attached to the outcome of things, youre never free!

They are, just not in the way you expect. We aren't very good at just talking about something, and that might be the scource of the question. Men try to be supportive by helping, or suggesting solutions. That's what we do, that's how we support. It's in our nature to want to do something. women support by talking about the issue and getting their feelings out. I wish I could do that better for my wife, but it's not something I'm very good at, but I'm still learning. Maybe in 20 years or so, I'll get it.
