Why are our cyber-friends so important that we get upset when someone like CC is caught out?

Betrayal of months of friendship....and nobody is -just- a "cyber friend" to me.

It appears that I've missed the fall out. What happened and who found CC out?

because, even though we are not (and maybe never were or will be) with them in person, those friendships can still be extremely meaningful. Especially on EP, it seems that people connect on a very deep and personal level, sharing things with their online friends that they may never tell their friends in person. People connect on a mental and emotional level, and you don't need to know someone in person for those connections to be very strong.

Finding out that someone who you felt that connection to is fake or was lying to you is such an awful betrayal, especially when you have been so open and honest with them.
