Why are people so infatuated with themselves,?

you see avatars, with their own picture on it, then they ask a bunch of questions so they can see their own reflections, or they take pictures of themselves and post it all over the internet, who are we trying to impress ourselves, or others

Maybe we just want others to SEE us. Does it have to be a negative thing, or are we just reaching out?

sumanitutanka	Posted Oct 29th, 2009 at 6:47PM I am so Not infatuated with myself! Far to the other way, to be honest. I allow no pictures of myself to be taken, ever. I don't look in reflective surfaces I actually steer way clear of my own reflection. I don't even like to look at my shadow, I don't want to scare it away! Rated: +1Vote for this!
justMeeka	Posted Oct 29th, 2009 at 7:21PM I just recently put my real pic on my avatar - albeit blurred. I did it to show someone that I could be real. I don't like it being there but, I wanted to show I wasn't afraid to be me regardless of where I am. Actually - I don't much like myself at the moment Rated: +1Vote for this!
agh6893	Posted Oct 29th, 2009 at 10:22PM I don't think it's self-indulgence or fascination with oneself. For me, I put my pic up (OK, even if it is only my eye) so that others can have a mental picture that is actually me (or rather, a part of me!) Rated: +1Vote for this!
