Because they get treated like royalty simply because they happened to pop out of the right vagina.

I think many people are disrespectful to the Royal Family because they are envious of their position and lifestyle. Plain and simple. Oh sure they can dress it up however they like but deep down they know its the truth. Others don't like them because they represent the Establishment and to be honest some people do so because of their perceived notion that their religion (Roman Catholicism) expects them to. This last idea is driven by the Act of Succession which prohibits a Roman Catholic or the spouse of a Roman Catholic from the throne. Historically this prohibition is understandable when one considers what happened when the last few Sovereigns were Roman Catholic. Others are just ignorant and under some illusion that they don't need to offer anyone respect. I think this stems from the fact that they don't know how to respect anyone because they have no self respect........... Just saying.

Dear other British people, we do not fund the royal family's daily living anymore.
The civil list was abolished a few years ago and the royals have to fund themselves from the proceeds of their estates etc.
(Why do you think the Queen Mother was in so much debt?)

Okay, so the taxpayer funds things like the jubilee celebrations, but that's not so much for the royal family as... well tbh I'm not sure who it's for, but all that standing on boats and stuff is a chore for the Queen and Prince Philip. Don't forget it made P. Philip sick. They didn't ask for that stuff.
You can begrudge paying for it, but it's not like the royal family ordered it, it's the politicians and high-up civil servants who plan this stuff.
