isn't it obvious - any kind of excess will eventually wreck you, but excess in these areas does it faster than anywhere else - just look at the state of the world today

Cause they are all things that can bring a person down so easy without knowing it and turn a brother/sister on their own family or faith if in to deep with the thrill.

This just a guess off the top of my head, but it seems to me those are the very things that would rip apart a small community the fastest, so making them "deadly sins" was more than likely just a means to preserve harmony way back in the day when we mostly lived in small communities. *shrug*
