Why are transgenders included in LGBT?
I am FTM transgender and want to know why this is, if it's completely different. If you're FTM and like girls, then you're straight. If you're FTM and like men, then you are gay. Same goes for MTFs, but opposite. I know that the 'T' stands for transgender, but I think it doesn't have much to do with sexual orientation, so why have them together? I'm not saying it's a bad thing, just curiosity.

In my opinion once you make your change you are no longer a transexual, you would be either male or female.
I think it is for the teens stuck in limbo who cannot afford to make a full change.Like (1)

It's a grouping that deals with discrimination issues. Some people still don't understand that transgendered people have rights, for one very small example, to use the public restroom according to their present gender. And then there are the issues with benefits, employment and housing discrimination, not to mention hate crimes. You may have experienced in talking to some people that they get sexual identity confused with sexual orientation, and see transgendered people the same way they do out gays, lesbians and bisexuals. Having transgendered under the LGBT umbrella insures a solid power ba
se so that their rights can be fought for and protected, too. Like (1)

LGBT is all about sex and gender, and supporting the people who don't fall into normal sex and gender expectations. Even though it isn't considered wrong to love a man, it might be considered wrong for a man to love a man because men are expected to love women. He's violating society's traditional views of gender. Likewise, when someone with a female body declares himself a man, this also violates society's views of gender.

Why on earth shouldn't they be?
LGBT is about accepting gender and orientation whatever it is. It's about equality.
