They aren't. You can get some cold, hard emotionless ******* in this world, just like you can get some warm hearted men who cry. I Think it has something to do with the stereotypical image that men must not show emotions, that they must be strong and stoic for the emotional, fragile woman. What a load of crap, men and women are emotionally equal.

this is so true. right from when boys are toddlers they are told not to cry & to be brave like a "big boy". meanwhile, whether little girls or adults, all females are viewed by society as being "fragile" & "innocent" & "good".

It's how we were built as individual genders...you could always change the way you express yourself.

Testosterone and its effects on brain development, particularly at age 2. That's what the science says. I'm sure social stereotypes might reinforce it as well. Of course there are exceptions, but it holds true according to the research.

I'm not sure we are, I think at a young age men are just taught it's not ok to be emotional.

Women tend to be more nurturing and sensitive to other people's pain, than men are. Doesn't mean there are no men out there who aren't sensitive, but women are born to be caregivers and supporters to others. Things and situations affect us more. We seek comfort differently than the way men do. We get upset at things that wouldn't even make a man shrug or raise an eyebrow. We like peace and harmony and for everyone to get along with each other. Men don't spend time contemplating those same things. We're not born the same or raised the same either. We have some very basic needs that are similar, and some others that differ quite a bit.

you paint the picture of women being these caring, empathetic, caring & peaceful people, but that is usually not the case. it may be true for you, but typically this is just the idea of the "fragile" & "innocent" woman that was created by society.
