Why can't the christian God forgive without sacrifice?

I was always forgiving towards my own kids without demanding sacrifice. On several turns, they would apologize for mistakes, but I never demanded sacrifice for it.

Doesn't the christian God not have the same authority as we humans do...? "or"

...Are we (better evolved) than our maker who by christian standards is a "Vampire-Parent" that demands blood B4 forgiveness can be granted...?

It all depends upon which Christian God you are referring to. The basis of Christianity, if I understand correctly being a non-expert barely practicing Christian, is based on the reported words of Christ: Whosoever believes in me, shall not perish, but shall live in the house of the Lord forever.

I am sure there are passages in the Bible the require more than that, but I do not believe the words of Christ himself require anything further.

We need to keep in mind that today's Bible is about a fourth generation translation of oral stories written starting about 30 years or more after the crucifixion of Christ. Additionally, much of the New Testament are the interpretations of the Apostles and Prophets. Furthermore, as the years passed and the Roman Catholic Church assumed greater importance and power, sacrifice was introduced more and more, probably for political and financial motives. Additionally, sacrifice is a fairly standard part of many religions, including Judaism upon which Christianity was largely based and that as the Roman church absorbed non-Christians into itself, the church adopted practices, holidays, and liturgical elements to make the newcomers more likely to accept the authority of the Holy Roman Church.

I personally doubt very much that a true Christian God would require sacrifice or worship.

Jesus forgave simply by saying "I forgive." But God the father told Adam that due to his sin (eating fruit from the tree of knowledge), one of his punishments had to be death. Blood sacrifices were common among all pre-civilization societies. When Jesus came and died in exchange for our redemption, it gave each of us the opportunity to avoid God the father's pronouncement of judgment on our great, great ... grandfather Adam and avoid death, through eternal life.

Did you ever read Yann Martel's "The Life of Pi," a wonderful novel about a S. Asian boy adrift at sea on a boat with a tiger? The climax of that novel involves which of two stories to believe. The answer the author suggests is the answer I believe as to why God the father demanded the death of His only begotten Son to atone for mankind's evil nature.

Jesus is Lord of the New Covenant because he was the blood sacrifice for sin atonement. No more sacrifices other than sacrifice getting revenge, hate envy, jealous, serving yourself more than others. sacrificing your ways and taking on his ways. Peace, Love, Joy and the Holy Ghost. Being a Christian God as you put it never had a blood sacrifice. That is the old testament. God of the Old Testament turned all power over to his Son.

I was raised Catholic. We went to confession and would repent by saying Hail Mary and Our Father. My God is very forgiving.

"Christian God" and Christian standards" vary widely.

Perhaps some Christians view of God would be more appropriate

We sin,we want to repent,we cry to Him,we admit our wrong,we promise not to do again,we repent,we open our heart to let Him come in and He forgives. Infact, the moment you confess your sins with tears,God already forgives. This is the process of forgiveness. Its not too much to ask for. I dont see any sacrifices involved in here, unless we think that throwing away our not so good habits is a sacrifice.
