Why can't we just have leadership in the US gov't that fixes the real problems that affect most of us?

Instead we have Democrats more concerned with whether Ennis and Jack can tie the knot instead of whether the economic numbers, which still suck big time, can actually sustain anyone. Of course the equally wonderful Republicans who created the horrible economy (and still have no idea what to do to fix it ) are right there to point it out as if they were some kind of better choice. Please.

So where can we find leadership that actually makes sense?

Because they are more concerned about power, money and what they and their friends want in life. They hit on a somewhat important issues to save face. Every problem could be solved to make everyone more or less happy, they just don't do it.

I think it comes down to cooperation and I don't see one side putting forth much effort. They are like stubborn little children.

Due to the structure of our govt , the checks and balances allows the minority to have a voice and disrupt sometimes favorably and other times unfavorably key issues . as a result govt gets bogged down between the Executive and Legislative branches . personally I believe if the president was a white man a lot of his ideas would be approved by congress .

Wow. You were almost there until you turned it into the old divisive race card. Do you honestly think that blaming some other side based on race (or some other divisive issue) do anyone any good?

I tried to get around it but have you notice the grid lock in congress . do you think Bill Clinton or John Mclain would have the difficulty Mr. Obama has faced? The tea party didn't exist until he was elected .

We can't understimate the importance of gay marriage. This is an important issue that is dragging on and it affects many families. It's a matter of civil rights that needs resolution already.

Fix the economy first and then we'll talk.

We have multiple issues and some are easy fixes and some are not. Gay marriage is a no-brainer.

It's a world wide problem. Did you see the pics of kids in China hooked up to IV drips which apparently improves their revision skills? Scary stuff. Yet we have kids leaving skill unable to read or write.
