Because men are more likely to be using technological devices, sat navs in cars for one example and NO I'm not being deliberately sexist, men spend more time in vehicles than women do. Men are more responsive to a womans voice than another mans.. imagine if a man was giving directions on sat nav, most men would turn it off, a womans voice encourages a man to listen. All voice systems I'm aware of have options for either gender but I've never know a man to have the male voice on. Simple psychology.
