Why did he told his friends?

i just read another question that reminded me my love strory that broke my heart...
i like a hot boy- i mean smoking hot- but i was too shy to talk with him.
the last day i called him and kissed him but he reacted very bad, he gave me a horrible look and then he was gone.
then his friends start talking when i passed in front of them, it wasnt cool, they were mean.
he never speak wit me again, well he had never done that. :(
