    Probably because you see yourself every day in mirrors and such and your mind cannot tell the difference you still basically look the same if you havent seen the person in a while though they will see the difference

    People can make rude and insensitive comments for alot of different reasons. I wouldn't concern yourself with people who make those kinds of remarks.
