didn't GOD name it earth?i think so.
What a dumb answer.
The word earth comes form the old english word for erode, that word came from the old german word (erde) for land. It is not only a dull name but an incorrect one as well the planet should be known as oceanius being that it is covered with more water than land.
maybe but it would be more accurate
So that earthworm didnt sound silly.
the old owners left a plaque orbiting around as a satellite when we bought it and we were just too lazy to get rid of it so we kept the name
Because we give associations to everything. What do you call nothing?
I've wondered about this too..
Just one of they things.. you ever met somebody and they tell you their name and you think to yourself like.. hmm.. you look more like a Daniel than a Stewart, maybe god thought that about Earth..
What would you rather call it?
'cause it sounds better than calling it "Dirt"!
well it is close, it means Ground in German 'erde' or in old English eorthe
aliens told us too lol
