Because they don't understand how people can believe in something they 'can't prove', they fear it.

I humbly disagree, ma'am... If I may, let me teach you something about a formal debate. When someone makes a claim, such as the claim of a God... They bare the burden of proving their claim. Atheism is nothing but the inability to accept the claim of a God based on the fact that they have no proof to back up their claim. Don't listen to this person asking this question... The question is ill-phrased and shows a lack of understanding of the English vernacular. He is shifting the burden of proof onto the atheists, essentially because he doesn't understand that atheists don't believe in a God because there is no evidence to support that claim. I hope this helps.. Have a good night.

I apologize to be so brazen... But you don't really know what atheism means.. You're question is ill-phrased and shows symptoms of a deficiency of understanding the English vernacular. Atheism is the inability to believe in a claim that has no evidence to support it. You're shifting the burden of proof which is a big no no in a formal debate. When you make a claim, such as the claim of a God, you bare the burden of proving your claim. I hope this helps you.. Have a good night.

Science. You can't prove the negative, only the positive so the burden of proof lies with the jesus people.

i don't think it's your responsibility to prove anything. believe what you want. but if you expect me to believe it, you will have to prove it to me. if there is a god, why is it such a big deal to prove to me that it exists
