Why do birds like to see themselves in windows?

I have a beautiful summer tanager that loves to jump up and down in front of my door. He doesnt care if I am there or not. He just enjoys seeing himself? I dont know.
He was following my husband around last night as he was outdoors. What a strange bird!

Either he thinks it's another cute bird or he likes the movement he creates.

He might think he sees another bird and is trying to protect his territory.
