Well, I nag my husband if he plays to long. I've thought of getting naked and painting myself to look like an x-box controller.

    Because they're friggin' AWESOME!

I'm not a boy though...but I do spend hours on the xbox.

Though, often my brother and I will fight over it until our other brother suggests we play multiplayer, but then we fight over whether to play mw3 or black ops, and that's when mum just turns off the internet so no one plays -- problem solved lol.

To me there very special, and there is a lot you can learn from a toy or a game.

Video games address various needs in boys and males, the sense of adventure, primary instincts, being a frontrunner, a trailblazer, achieving things others are not able to. This has been part of males since the beginning of time and was satisfied for a long time in the construction of huge and unique structures, the invention of new technologies, or the actual adventuring, trailblazing and achieving that led to the colonization of extremely far off parts of the world and part of our solar system.

Not to say females don't have this quality. In fact, girls and women more and more rediscover and connect with this same desire, which is why most games today come closer and closer to having a equal base of females and males.

This sounds like a serious defense. LOL! Sense of adventure for boys comes from exploring nature and getting outdoors.

Because it offers them a chance to escape into a world where they can live out their fantasies, Spiderman, the action hero, the military man. They are a lot of fun and often you are able to progress as you go so you get hooked on wanting to make it to that next level. With new multiplayer games there's this whole new competive side to it, where you just want to dominate your opponent. It makes sense as men by nature are warlike and like to compete and rule.
