Because that's the side they need to know. Why would anyone strive to understand the whole conversation if that meant they had to understand both the "enemy," and their friend.<br />
Let's face it, we like things simple. It's easier to simply hate someone for something they don't really know about, than to understand both sides and try to get along with both.
