I know why I did. I never thought about food really until I got married and took on the responsibility for feeding us both, suddenly the planning, acquiring, preparing and storing of food occupied quite a bit of my time...if you're going to devote so much time to something you want to try it out to see if it tastes good, and if you get good at it, you'll taste a bit more just for the joy of it etc etc,....this is why we should involve our children in the preparation of food right from the get go so that this doesn't happen to them when they begin their households!

I only know one couple that hasn't gained weight over the years and that's because they're both very active and eat properly. Most married or committed couples get relaxed and sedentary in their lifestyle. Some of it has to do with the fact that you don't feel that you really have to impress anyone anymore.
