They really don't! It's a myth and such a saying is propaganda to promote negative and unsatisfactory relationships between men and women... thereby (among other reasons) justifying the need for therapy, sexual health care, etc.

I don't like bad boys... Not specifically... I like guys who aren't jealous, who excite me, who don't cry, who aren't overly sensitive and who don't give in to everything I want just because I want it... But unfortunately that's pretty much just the bad boys... But if I knew they sucked up front of course I wouldn't date them... They are tricky, they know what we want and they play off of us and get us in deep before we see the real guy... Sucks

I have recently decided to switch to jerks because for all of my dating life, "Nice Guys" have treated me utterly like crap. The only one who remotely treated me with respect and dignity was the one everybody told me was a douchebag jerk.
