Why do I remember some dreams better than actual memories?

For about 2 years now I have been remembering dreams I have had years and years ago. I don't even intentionally think about them they just come into my mind. Thing is I remember some dreams like they were memories ( weird I Know). But it's not just dreams I had years ago even ones I had a few months ago. What could be the cause of this? It weirds me out a lot!

i dream very vividly, more vividly than reality i lot of times. i think it's a state where your thought are not subject to ouside influence so thought and ideas are more concentrated in your mind. just my theory but a lot of people have dreams like that.

Well, there could be many different reasons... Maybe these aren’t dreams, but memories...Apologies for any assumptions, but drug-taking could lead to thoughts getting mixed up and hazy...Finally, if you record your dreams they're more likely to be remembered, and/or you don't want to remember the past/prefer your dreams...
