Why do judges get away with it?

I keep seeing cases, where unprovoked violent attacks, often nearly killing some innocent victim,.and the perpetrators get let off so lightly,.without doing any time..Also there are cases, such as the guy in Perth, who tried to sell 55,000 credit cards, complete with passwords for $1.1million..All he got,was a $2000 fine!!!.How come people don't demand that incompetent or corrupt judges be held to account??.Are we really that docile? In Australia,it seems that its a case of "victim pays".Whatever happened to justice?

Judges play a part in a very corupt society here in Australia.I know what you're saying, and a lot of it comes down to what they call "Plea bargaining". This is a lazy way to get some sort of conviction out of the accused, rather than tie the courts up for 6 or 8 weeks trying to get a conviction on the real crime. So all party's agree to the lesser conviction, and move on to the next case. "And stuff the victem".

because all the good names for the task forces and royal commissions have been used .. no-one wants to be on the buttercup taskforce into judicial incompetance.
