Why do men ADORE sports so much? I really want to know why...I play soccer and I can understand if you play a sport. But
why the obsession with sports. Glory days? Competition? Living vicariously? What? And don't compare it to shopping or shoes or other such stupid stuff! I am not like that....

Us men (and many women) love to 'beat the other guy/team' the them and us mentality, that's why there's often violence associated with sport.... I like the joke 'with rugby the thugs are on the pitch and the sportsmen are in the stands and in football the sportsmen are on the pitch and the thugs are in the stands!" (that's real football and not American gridiron)Like (1)

I took up music instead, because I didn't really have a knack for sports.

I took my name from a movie called Paint Your Wagon. There was a song called I Was Born Under A Wandering Star and I found that it pretty much fit me and I was looking for something more internet appropriate so I took StarWandererLike (1)

I've always been a huge fan of football & ba
seball. Even more so than my husband, enough for him to go home and leave me at the bar to get a taxi ride home after the game. I guess it's just the tomboy in me. I can't play sports anymore due to severe bodily injuries, so watching them is the next best thing for me. Like (2)

I'm a girl and I'm as "bad" as most guys for sports. I love football, boxing, darts, cycling, athletics....actually I'll watch anything competitive (except ba
seball and cricket - yawn!). When I'm not watching sports I'm watching the sports news channel and I plan my social life around major sporting events! I adore it for the competition - I like seeing two teams face ff against each other and see what tactics they are going to play, I like watching the skills and watching people achieve the physical limits of the human body. I like watching people do stuff that I can't. I love the ecitement before a big game or a big fight, it just gets the blood pumping and is a great excuse to go out to watch it or stay in and have friends over for beers. Like (2)

I'm a man who doesn't like sports. Once or twice every few years the Summer Olympics get my nod but because I did the sports AND they aren't commercialized.
Have you noticed the football players suing the league because they gave THEMSELVES head injuries trying to be macho?? "Dumb jock" never had a better fit. Who would have thought butting heads would hurt you...oh wait... Like (2)

same as why women like feminine products and purchasing unnecessary things, or make up for that 'natural look' (even though the natural look is no makeup) its just our thing :-)

I enjoy playing some sports and I enjoy watching some sports. It is my entertainment, and that is it. I don't adore it, I just get entertained from watching or playing sports.

Generally no. But of course sometimes my emotions burst out, especially, when watching my national team do something admirable or really thoughtless in a game. There is just a feeling of excitement, when the chances of your team qualifying to the next round rise or are crushed..Like (1)

It embodies the human experience. The love and passion. The struggle and conflict. The comebacks and rise to greatness or the defeat and shame. Sports tests a man's fortitude and pushes their potential.
