They don't feel a need to. They just do. They act arrogant because they think they know more than you, the same reason everyone does. Men are more arrogant because they are more easily threatened than women are. They are overcompensating out of insecurity and they see it as a challenge sometimes--or an experiment to see what your response will be to their arrogance. Sometimes, but not most times, they want to get a reaction out of you or get you mad so they can start a fight where they bring up an issue they THINK will start a fight, because they think "get it over with"--this is a wrong attitude. But quite simply, because men have problems knowing what to do with their emotions.
I completely agree. Thanks for explaining this so eloquently and to the point.
Society has pushed that macho garbage on men so that a lot of them act that way to fit the stereotype. One more hurtful result of gender roles.
Overcompensating for inadequate equipment
I agree with Konrad.
you could ask the same question of women, with their snide comments, spiteful snickering and "holier than thou" dismissal of men at times. Respect works both ways, you don't just deserve if because you're female and you shouldn't have to work harder to earn it just because you're male. It usually pays to look at what you're doing in order to attract negative behaviour from others, be it men or women.
Because they got balls........
Some men pretend not to be arrogant when facing women, but still they are... specifically when facing men.
It could be... because of the influence of their childhood or those teen age days.
Because most women find it attractive.
I don't know but sometimes I find it attractive.
They confuse being arrogant with looking confident.
Because women are constantly trying to put them down.
I don't know, but if they think they're attracting women, they are totally wrong.
Real men dont. Only kids wanting to be men do!
