it's the nature of politics, especially in a two party system.. each party tries its best to throw dirt on the other.. it is a pity, but that's the way it is...

Simple fact is that Obama took office after Geo. W. Bush. I could stop here and you all would know what I mean. I won't, I will defend the fact that under the circumstances of a poor economy, two wars going on, both with minimal support from the rest of the world, terrorism, housing slump, high gas prices and Obama care under the microscope, our president has moved us four years down the the block still standing. Osama Bin Laden is now dead and gone, point Obama. Iraq war has a troop withdrawal timeline that is close to completion if not already done, point Obama. Housing slump, still an issue but we seem to have reached the bottom and as the economy improves, which it is doing, jobs will create housing stability, 1/2 a point Obama. Gas prices are a sour point to us all, but these prices have actually help, through the taxes raised, each state in the nation. Michigan, which has had the worst economy for the longest, is actually doing rather well right now, and if Michigan can get better the whole country must be as well, 1/2 point Obama. Obama care is not very favorable to business or many tax payers, but for those who have no health insurance are quite happy at the prospect of having care for them and their family. I personally don't like it but I understand the reason it was important to get it passed. I believe it will be repelled in part and I can bet that Obama would trade a scaled back health care plan for a booming economy. Obama gets 1/4 of a point here. So Obama gets 3 and 1/4 out of 5. Not Abe Lincoln numbers but under the circumstances not bad, plus Obama has had a way of coming out smelling good regardless of the circumstances. By election time the economy will be very much moving forward and Obama will be reelected. Which is the point for us Obama supporters. We look forward, not back .

Well, if we're talking about the Republican candidates, I mean....c'mon, they pretty much are begging for mud-slinging. Even the Republicans don't like most of them. It's like the GOP picked the worst possible candidates on purpose, or already knew they were going to lose and the guys who ran were the ones who the cool kids didn't let in on the secret. Not defending democrats, either. I don't follow either party. The two-party system is a artful contrivance for controlling public thought. A small group defines what is left and what is right and people tend cluster around the middle.

Why do you feel the need to make sweeping generalizations about supporters of either party?
