Sometimes they just want to interact with others. Googling will give you an answer but not a banter.

1) they may want more opinions than just one perfect answer.
2) they may need to interact with people by asking the counter questions.
3) they may be trying to find like minded persons, or persons with particular personality, and it gives them opportunity to find friends.
4) some people have just freak about asking question
5) you can't find answers to all your question on google, for example you may try searching this question itself.
6) they may just want to share their feelings(they want to be listened) & looking for a sensitive response.Like (3)

cause i spend half my day in my real life and my own thoughts thinking up these questions when i could be concentrating on what i am doing. might as well put them up when i actually think up a good one.
