The paper making process uses a lot of resouces. Its not just trees but also water and electricity. And the diesel for the trucks to get the logs from the forrest and then to deliver the paper to the retailer. There is also petrol for the chainsaw and for your car to drive to the retailer to get the paper.....<br />
Overall emails consume less resource but they are not completely clean.
Just wait 'til we get telepathy down in future
I think they're usually talking about doing things online that would have meant lots of forms before. Paper is more precious than the electricity, it comes from trees and has to go through the whole manufacturing process.
Every invention mankind made was and is to "save time". Life is short. Car, Train, Boat, Plane used up even more natural resources of this planet world, but from LA to New York, how long it would take us to get there traveling on foot?
Not every invention, plenty were made for comfort and other things.
make it "most of" then.
Busniess wise it makes sense as the electricity used is not nearly as expensive as the paper, ink, envelope and postage that would have been used.
I never thought of it as saving paper, but as being quicker. I can exchange ten emails and get an issue resolved in a couple of hours, whereas with snail mail, it can take a couple of months.
