Why do people find it important to use emails/ computers, as it saves paper? I mean, doesn't electricity get used up?

The paper making process uses a lot of resouces. Its not just trees but also water and electricity. And the diesel for the trucks to get the logs from the forrest and then to deliver the paper to the retailer. There is also petrol for the chainsaw and for your car to drive to the retailer to get the paper.....
Overall emails consume less resource but they are not completely clean.Like (1)

Not only is electricity consumed, but the countless bodies of prehistoric animals are being destroyed to make that electricity. And there is something else that people seem to overlook with a calloused attitude. There are billions of electrons that are wantonly destroyed every day in order to make me aware of my fortune that awaits me in Nigeria. Those electrons had families! Where is P.E.T.A. when all of this slaughter is taking place? How about the ASPCA? That's right! No one cares for the plight of the electrons! Everytime outlook pings at me I become distraught thinking of the electrons that just took their final journey. Sorry, I can't go on.....

The transportation is more important since moving a big car just for a small piece of paper is a big waste of energy.

I think they're usually talking about doing things online that would have meant lots of forms before. Paper is more precious than the electricity, it comes from trees and has to go through the whole manufacturing process.

Every invention mankind made was and is to "save time". Life is short. Car, Train, Boat, Plane used up even more natural resources of this planet world, but from LA to New York, how long it would take us to get there traveling on foot?

Busniess wise it makes sense as the electricity used is not nearly as expensive as the paper, ink, envelope and postage that would have been used.

I never thought of it as saving paper, but as being quicker. I can exchange ten emails and get an issue resolved in a couple of hours, whereas with snail mail, it can take a couple of months.
