some people want the best of both worlds. just because they're looking for something new and fresh doesn't necessarily mean they want to end their marriage.

georgeg	Posted Jul 31st, 2009 at 9:46AM because sometimes they want to spare the partner any pain and anguish. maybe breaking up the marriage would be easier for the one in the affair, but wants to spare the spouse the pain it would inflict. Rated: +3Vote for this!

And that partnership has a number of benefits that an affair will never have. But the affair is new and intriguing -- and many poor suckers can't resist the temptation, even though they know they've got a good thing in their spouse. So, my answer is that affairs are about temptation, not meaningful relationships, although it can certainly blossom into one. Rated: +2Vote for this!

Shoreboy	Posted Jul 31st, 2009 at 2:19PM Many reasons. It's as notreal stated... it's not a simple question. Here are a few: 1.) They like the titillation factor of doing something secret and 'naughty' 2.) They don't want the marriage to end. 3.) They have an 'open marriage' as long as both partners are discreet. 4.) They are ashamed of it happening and don't want anyone much less their spouse to know. You could keep going of forever pretty much. Rated: +1Vote for this!
