I think people judge because they life to feel important and by putting others down it makes them feel better about themselves!

Because they are selfish and feel like they can somehow reject or even control others by doing so, rather than minding their own business. Even worse, we often see a hyprocritical judgment, where the person judges someone else for doing something they themselves have done/would do in a similar or identical situation. Please, be wise and "know thyself" first.

Because the act of judging makes them somehow feel superior. I have the most difficulty with people judging me because they don't understand me and can't seem to make me fit their narrow world view :P
